I have had the same problem with my Savge ever since I bought it 5 years ago. I thought it was a bad battery or charging system. I bought a new battery installed it and off I went, a few mornings later same thing, no start. Took bike to shop and had it checked out, they say there is nothing wrong with it, they just do that. So the only answer I could come up with was to keep it on a battery maintainer. It keeps the battery warm I guess. Don't know but it worked.
